The Verdict

Traveler’s choice is well worth consideration for anyone likely to be traveling regularly. They offer plenty of different options for all sorts of travelers yet have consistently strong products across the board.

They have a clear style which all their products stick to. Everything Traveler’s Choice make is clean and modern-looking. It might not suit everyone but with a decent selection of colors, there’s likely to be something for everyone.

Durability and safety are at the forefront of everything they make. Their products are made of high-quality materials and made to last. If that is something you prioritize in your travel product then keep reading for an in-depth look at some of their best products, including our top pick, the Tasmania Luggage 3-Piece.

Why Should You Buy Traveler’s Choice Luggage?

Traveler’s Choice is an excellent brand for families who travel. They hand a series of bundles for each range of luggage coming in different sizes with different fits to suit everyone’s individual needs.

Bundles come in matching color sets for the whole family. It is even possible to store suitcases in one another to save space on journeys and use it when needed.

Another huge plus point for Traveler’s Choice is the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Customer feedback is largely favorable towards the luggage company with some of the most common praises being towards the high-quality materials used in the manufacture of the luggage and their longevity.

Size and storage options are impressive across the board with Traveler’s Choice. All their suitcases offer a lot of different storage options with interior zipper lined storage and expandable cases. Traveler’s Choice makes the most of their space.

Traveler’s Choice place a large emphasis on safety with all their designs. There are several patented technologies employed across a range of their products to increase security for customers. You can rest assured that your items are well-protected when traveling using their luggage. That piece of mind is invaluable wherever you go.

Is Anything Bad About Traveler’s Choice Luggage?

An area where Traveler’s Choice may fall down is their limited designs.

Their luggage follows a specific style of modern and clean which might not be suited to everyone. Although there is a selection of colors, they are somewhat limited to dark tones. For example, one item came in black, dark brown, deep purple and navy – not a lot in the way of flashy colors there.

All their designs are pretty basic in terms of pattern and texture so there’s not a lot to see there. If you are after beautifully designed floral-patterned luggage, then you made to look elsewhere. Having said this, there’s no reason you cannot customize the styles they do offer. It is a fairly minimal complaint in the grand scheme of things, but it may matter to some people.

Also, Traveler’s Choice does not offer the cheapest products on the market so if you are looking for budget luggage then there may be better options. However, they offer quality for the price tag and their prices are competitive. There are plenty of other companies selling items at similar prices – Traveler’s Choice will provide quality for your outlay.

Our Top-Rated Products

Traveler’s Choice Tasmania 100% Pure Carbonate 3-Piece Luggage Set

Luggage type: 3-Piece Hardside Set

29 x 19.5 x 11 inches (Large)
25 x 17 x 10 inches (Medium)
21 x 14.5 x 9 inches (Small)

10.8 pounds (Large)
9.2 pounds (Medium)
7 pounds (Small)

The Traveler’s Choice Tasmania 3-Piece Luggage Set is a very robust option if you’re looking for rugged hardside suitcases with spinner wheels. The set comes in four color options:

  • Black
  • Dark Brown
  • Navy
  • Purple

Because these suitcases are made from polycarbonate, I find that they flex much more naturally than alternatives made from ABS. This prevents cracking, which I’ve seen happen with suitcases made from ABS. Another positive with polycarbonate is its lightweight nature compared to most other materials.

One consistent feature that I appreciate with all Traveler’s Choice hardside luggage is the handle design. Each bag in this set has a decent gap between the side handles and the case itself. Many manufacturers keep the handle flush to the side of the case, which makes it difficult (and painful) to maintain a good grip. No such issues with this Traveler’s Choice Tasmania set.

Capacity-wise, these suitcases are great (especially the Traveler’s Choice 29-inch option). Because polycarbonate is so flexible, you can stuff a lot more into each bag than you might think.

Each suitcase has one main compartment and several zippered ones. With the 29-inch, you can easily store three pairs of shoes on the lid’s zippered compartment.

Lastly, the dual spinner wheels on these suitcases are among the most robust I’ve experienced. Because I’ve had suitcase wheels crack after being slammed against a corner, I really appreciate the solid construction and shock absorption built into these.

Traveler’s Choice Sedona 100% Pure Polycarbonate 3-Piece Luggage Set

Luggage type: 3-Piece Hardside Set

30 x 21 x 11 inches (Large)
26 x 18 x 10.5 inches (Medium)
22 x 14.5 x 9 inches (Small)

10.9 pounds (Large)
9.2 pounds (Medium)
6.8 pounds (Small)

The first thing I thought when I saw this set was “ooh, shiny!” Traveler’s Choice gave these suitcases a much more polished look than those in the Tasmania set. A polished finish may be easier to clean than the more texture surface of the Tasmania suitcases. The downside, of course, is that a polished surface will show fingerprints and smudges.

The colors that the Sedona set comes in are much more vibrant than other products from Traveler’s Choice. The silver option is my favorite as it flies under the radar, unlike the bright red and electric blue variants.

One thing heavy packers might appreciate about the Traveler’s Choice Sedona luggage set is its expandable nature. By opening an outer zipper, you can get about 25% more room.

The built-in TSA-approved lock is also a nice touch; I like how snugly the zippers fit inside the mechanism.

Beyond what we’ve just discussed, there isn’t a huge difference in features between this Traveler’s Choice luggage set and the previously-reviewed one. For example, the wheels (as far as I can tell) are exactly the same on both sets of luggage, as are the handles and locks.

Consumers who choose one over the other would likely do so based on aesthetics. Personally, I prefer the more aggressive molding on the Sedona suitcases. It reminds me of a classic car from the 1960s.

Traveler’s Choice Birmingham Lightweight Expandable Rugged Rolling Luggage

Luggage type: Large Rolling Suitcase

Dimensions: 21 x 14 x 8.5 inches

Weight: 7.9 pounds

If you prefer luggage made from fabric, the Traveler’s Choice Birmingham suitcase is one noteworthy option. It’s bulkier and more business-like than the Traveler’s Choice luggage sets previously discussed.

We’ll primarily focus on the 29-inch options since, based on my analysis, that’s where this suitcase really shines. It does, however, also come in 21-inch and 25-inch sizes.

Part of what makes the 29-inch variant such a strong contender is its cavernous size. Even those who pack heavily would have a hard time filling this suitcase. Traveler’s Choice claims the 29-inch option is suitable for trips of two weeks or longer, which seems accurate and makes this bag well-suited towards digital nomads who spend long stretches on the road.

Now, there are a few things the Traveler’s Choice 3-Piece luggage sets have that this suitcase is missing. For one, you don’t have a built-in lock. This can be an inconvenience if you’re like me and tend to misplace standalone locks.

The suitcase’s wheels are also in-line and a bit less substantial than on the Sedona and Tasmania options. While each wheel has a reassuring rubber shock absorber around it, the in-line design undoubtedly impacts maneuverability.

This, in my opinion, reinforces this suitcase as being primarily targeted towards business travelers. If you’re checking the bag in at the airport and then leaving it in your hotel room during your trip, the reduced mobility won’t bother you much.

Traveler’s Choice Silverwood Softside T-Cruiser

Luggage type: Carry-On Rolling Suitcase

Dimensions: 21 x 14.5 x 9.8 inches

Weight: 8.29 pounds

One of the best Traveler’s Choice carry-on luggage options is the Silverwood Softside T-Cruiser. It has several nifty features that I haven’t seen on any other luggage.

One great example of this is the “T-Cruiser handle system.” This is really just a fancy way of saying that the handle is shaped like a T, which makes a bigger difference than one might think.

The T design gives you a bit more leverage to maneuver the suitcase and get a comfortable grip. This is something you might appreciate if you use your carry-on extensively outside of your hotel room. For example, my carry-on goes with me basically everywhere when I’m traveling for conferences. An ergonomic handle design is greatly appreciated.

Another nice feature that enhances this bag’s maneuverability is the spherical design of its wheels. While the ‘sphere’ (which is split in two, with each half rotating independently as part of the dual-wheel system) only spins on one axis, its domed sides reduce hangups.

The suitcase has a sturdy polycarbonate design that’s rigid enough to blur the line between ‘softside’ and ‘hardside’ luggage. It features riveted corners, which is something I wish the previous three Traveler’s Choice suitcases had as well.

This suitcase’s primary downside is that it’s a bit heavy for its size. If you take advantage of the expansion gusset, the suitcase will likely become heavy and bulky enough to be better-suited for checking in.

Traveler’s Choice luggage is competitively-priced and well-made. While the brand’s lineup lacks ‘adventurous’ designs, there are several robust options for both casual and business travelers. Features like built-in locks, ergonomic handles, and sturdy construction make these suitcases good contenders for those seeking long-lasting luggage.

Perhaps the best example of this is the Traveler’s Choice Tasmania 3-Piece Set. The suitcases’ rugged design, spinner wheels, expandability, and ergonomic handles make it our top pick from Traveler’s Choice.
